Albert Einstein was born in Ulm in 1879. He is considered one of the most important physicists in the history of science, and his theory of relativity made him world famous. In 1921 he received the Nobel Prize. Buildings, monuments and works of art commemorate the city’s famous son in several locations. The Ulmer Volkshochschule (adult education centre) is based in the EinsteinHaus and is guided by Einstein’s values of world peace, humanity and interest in science.

The alleys in the old town invite you to take a stroll around Ulm Cathedral. In addition to well-known brand outlets and chain stores, you will find a number of individual and charming shops.
